Optimal Design Parameters for Hybrid DC Circuit Breakers Using a Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm

The primary function of hybrid direct current circuit breakers (HCBs) is to quickly interrupt fault currents protect high-voltage (HVDC) systems. To enhance the reliability and stability HVDC systems, optimal design HCBs required minimize peak current, interruption time, recovery time. Therefore, this study develops a multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA)-based optimization model identify parameters for HCBs. MOGA consists three objective functions that provide trade-offs among reductions in proposed verified with novel HCB topology using inverse injection techniques. performance validated MATLAB/Simulink environment. In addition, comparison between an typical presented show effectiveness method. Our simulation results parameter significantly reduces magnitude operating thus maintaining safe stable operation entire system.
